There always seems to be a SeaWorld article showing them doing something bad on social media these days (which is GREAT). I feel 2015 was a big year for steps in the right direction to end the captivity of Orca's. There is still a long way to go, but more people are definitely becoming aware that captivity is wrong and that SeaWorld is an awful organisation.
In this third & final instalment of my interview with Orca expert & researcher Howard Garret, we talk about the logistics of what could happen when SeaWorld shuts down (and I do mean WHEN) and what the future could hold for the captive Orca's if they are let free and indeed if they could be set free or put in sea pens. Following the recent California Coastal Commission decision, Howard & myself discuss SeaWorld's hidden agenda behind the expansion of their tanks. There is no way SeaWorld wanted to expand the tanks for the benefit of their current Orca residents and SeaWorld just prove this by filing a lawsuit against the Commission - as Howard says, "San Deigo wants to be the puppy mill for all the other parks".
What a despicable organisation, SeaWorld have acted out in desperation to try and keep supporters of their parks. They must know they are on a sinking ship, their stocks are falling, the attendance through the door is plummeting and every fatality at their parks is frowned upon and discussed & aired on social media & the papers (and unfortunately there is far too many fatalities). SeaWorld clearly don't care about their Orca's, putting them in harms way like poor Lolita stuck at the Miami Seaquarium is just evil. Howard goes through the possibilities of what could happen to Lolita & why she is in constant danger and why she would be a great candidate for release back into her natural waters.
What you can do- DON'T SUPPORT SEAWORLD, it is a toxic company that needs to be closed down. Having animals perform for food and the public is barbaric and there is NO good that comes from it. Please share this message.
