Now I know what you're thinking, Tea - how could it not be vegan? But of course some tea's contain honey, and I'm sure somewhere there is another hideous ingredient. It's not just about being vegan, but do we really know what is in the tea bag? A tea brand that I would recommend even if you're not vegan is Clipper Tea. All Clipper Tea bags are unbleached (unlike most brands) and they offer organic (only the good stuff!) & Fairtrade (the tea leaves were fairly harvested with ethical means) tea bags and leaves and best of all they have loads of smashing flavours!
I was looking for a replacement for P G Tips & Twinings, ones that I could be sure of were much better for me and the environment (and ones that haven't been tampered with by a bleaching process!). Clipper offer quite a few everyday tea versions. I went with a pack of the Organic Everyday Tea (£1.69 for 40 bags) and Organic Everyday Decaffeinated (£2.69 for 40 tea bags). These taste delicious, a very different taste to your average tea, really full of flavour and unlike a lot of tea's I've had, you don't have to squeeze the life out of the tea bag to get a strong cup of tea! As I say, they make a nice strong cuppa, even the decaffeinated tea (which I was expecting to have less taste). I know a lot of vegans use different milks or have their tea black, I have soya milk with my tea and it doesn't curdle - makes for a jolly nice cup of tea!
When you taste an organic tea, with quality tea leaves etc you can really taste the difference. I won't be going back to other brands for everyday tea or fruity infusions that's for sure - Clipper For Life!
