Another smashing product from one of my The Vegan Kind boxes, Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Bio-Plasma Mud Mask (bit of a mouthful!) but what a product! Dr Organic is a brand that I've heard a lot of buzz about. This brand can be found in Holland & Barrett stores mostly, they pride themselves on being cruelty-free & the majority of their products are vegan. The only products that aren't suitable for vegans only contain honey, beeswax or snail gel. However, they are also very connected to sourcing their ingredients meaning they carefully monitor how they obtain these & make sure this is done in the most natural, harmless & organic way possible.
This mask is a detoxifying, purifying & rejuvenating mud mask, this product is also free from -
- Mineral Oil
This mask is supposed to really clean your pores and help regulate the natural oils on your face (always helpful - anything is good that tackles the t-zone & nose in particular). This mask is a brown/clay like colour and the consistency is fairly thick. You just apply a thin layer of this mask all over your face (though I did apply it a little thicker around my t-zone & nose - a problem area for me). It felt rather tingly as it went on, I was concerned that stinging may follow this as I have fairly sensitive skin but it calmed down which was great (so if you do feel a bit tingly, give it a few minutes to settle down if you can before you go to wipe it off). It felt lovely and fresh on my face as I applied. After 5 minutes or so it went to a hard cracked clay like texture (as it should do) try not to laugh too much in these last five minutes, you don't want too much cracking!
I used my Konjac Sponge to take this mask off (always good to get your weekly fix of exfoliation after a detoxifying face mask!). My skin felt incredibly soft once I washed this mask off, a massive plus also was that my skin didn't feel tight & dry after (which often happens, I usually have to head straight to the moisturiser!). On the back of this product it advises using up to twice weekly.
If you're looking to try a mud mask, this Dr Organic product is fab. My preferred face masks are always ones that are more clay/mud based (rather than ones to give you extra moisture & hydrate you a lot more), one of the other things I really like about this product is its fresh, herby smell. Sometimes face products can smell very sweet and they're just too rich for my skin. This mask is great & I'd definitely look into re-purchasing after I use this tube.
Currently priced at £7.99 in Holland & Barrett for 100ml tube.
